CCWA’s annual Gala set

Dinner, volunteerism, a chance to join the board, and a presentation.
The annual Conewango Creek Watershed Association Gala will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at La Familia Restaurant, 1 Pratt Ave., Chautauqua, N.Y.
The public is welcome to join members and volunteers at the event.
The guest speaker will be Will Miller, conservation director for the Seneca Nation of Indians. He will talk about the nation’s eastern hellbender raising and reintroduction program and will bring along a live hellbender.
The association will honor its Volunteer of the Year and other volunteers.
There are three open spots for directors and an election will be held.
“Anyone with an interest in the watershed can run for director and we are especially looking for directors to represent Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties in New York,” Chairperson Liz Dropp said. “If you would like to run for a director position or nominate someone else, please contact our office.”
Door prizes will be awarded and raffles will be held throughout the event – including the drawing of the 2016 kayak raffle.
The association asks that those who plan to attend R.S.V.P. by calling 726-1441 or by email to info@conewangocreek.org. There is no charge to attend, but donations will be accepted.
