The board and other members spent some time reviewing our Mission Statement over the past year. The original statement was created over 12 years ago and the Association has changed some over that time. Did the Mission Statement still represent us? Did it really say what we wanted it to? Was it too technical? What seemed like something that should only take 1- 2 hours to review ended up taking many meetings and hours. Coming to a consensus was a tough chore, but we finally made it. We decided to change it, maybe make the new one a little easier to understand while add a new aspect to the mission statement that represented something we believe very strongly in: We all need to work together cooperatively to address watershed issues!!
Here’s our new Mission Statement:
The mission of the Conewango Creek Watershed Association is to promote the health of Conewango Creek so that landowners, citizens, visitors, and municipal officials together take an active role in sustaining the resources of the creek and its watershed.
