This year’s cleanup will Saturday Sept 7, 2024. Details include:
- Pre-register by emailing us at info@conewangocreek.org or call the office at 814-726-1441. Please provide this info: Number of people coming; best contact phone number; email address; are you bring your own boat, want to borrow a canoe, or will do land-cleanup; do you need child PFDs (how many and what size). (We will not share your information with anyone else.
- Registration is 8 am to 8:30 am. Cleanup up will start at 9 pm.
- Cleanup will end at 2 pm. Return to start location to sign out and return equipment. You may clean for a shorter period if you wish: what ever works for you.
- This event will occur rain or shine. Only reasons to delay or cancel are high water or lightning.
- Start and end location will be Front St. boat Launch at the South end of Front St. Launch point will be Big Four Boat Launch (Big Four Road North of Hatch Run Road). if you bring your own boat, drop it and most of your equipment at Big Four Boat Launch early then come to Front St. We’ll have a person there to watch things.
- We will provide shuttling to Big Four Launch.
- We will provide gloves, trash bags and canoes with paddles and PDFs if desired.
- We will provide coffee and doughnuts at the start point. We will provide water to refill water bottles.
- Everyone must sign waivers before participating.
- Wear long pants and sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Other desired items to bring would be a hat, sunscreen, insect repellant, rain coat, warm layers, water and a refillable water bottle, and snacks as well as any medications, you may need.
