Poker Run Moved Indoors Due to Severe Weather Forecast!
Due to the forecast of severe weather tomorrow, the Conewango Creek Watershed Association has decided to hold our Indoor Poker Bash at the North Warren Fire Hall instead of our outdoor Poker Run. What to bring: We’ll be indoors this year, so dress comfortably in relaxed clothing. Prepare to stay for the meal and music afterwards. The event will be held rain or shine.

Regular Registration: for Non-members is $30, Members is $25 A limited number of T-shirts are available the day of the event for people registering on June 11.

On-Water DETAILS: (now disregard)
REGISTRATION/CHECK-IN:
Check-In begins at 8 a.m. at the State Line boat launch located at the state line of NY & PA on U.S. Rt. 62. Participants will be given a safety briefing and complete registration/check-in. They will then be able to enter the water. This is not a race, so have fun, relax, watch the wildlife, and enjoy the paddle.
Check-In ends at 11 a.m. and all participants should be on the water immediately after that.
The Early Registration Fee for Conewango Creek Watershed Association (CCWA) members is $20.00 per person. Non-member cost is $25.00 per person. Registration forms are available HERE. Download, print, complete, sign and return (with check or money order) to our office at 4000 Conewango Ave, Warren, PA 16365. They must be postmarked by Friday, May 13, 2016. If paying by cash, please stop by our office and return everything in person, for your protection.
The Late Registration Fee after May 13 is $25.00 per person for CCWA members and $30.00 for non-members. Please be sure to mail registration forms so they will reach the CCWA office prior to the event date or bring the form and payment the day of the event.
All persons planning on being on the water (including children) MUST also sign a set of Waivers, which are available at the links below. Please download, print, complete, sign and include the appropriate waivers (see below for details) with your registration packet at the address above. Having these forms completed ahead of time will greatly expedite the morning check-in process and allow you to enter the water quickly and will greatly ease congestion for you and your fellow paddlers.
Children accompanying an adult with a kayak or canoe are free of charge to paddle but will not receive a game card and are not eligible for door prizes and no meal is provided, unless purchased. Parents may purchase their child a barbecue dinner at Larimer Park at the end of the Poker Run: up to 12 yrs. old- $3 per child, 13 yrs. old & up – $5 per person.
The registration fee includes: entry in the kayak and canoe poker run, a game card and Ziploc bag, a Conewango Creek Kayak and Canoe Poker Run T-shirt (* guaranteed to those who qualified for pre-registration), a small bag for trash, and a barbecue lunch at the ending point of Larimer Park in Russell, Pa. The distance of the run is approximately 5.9 miles. Registration fees are non-refundable.
Participants wanting to take advantage of the $5.00 members discount for this and future events may fill out the membership section on the registration form and include the fee for the desired membership level in the same check as the registration fee for the poker run.
WAIVERS:
Parental consent and adult supervision is required for any person under the age of 18.
All persons (including children) who plan to be on the water at any time during the Poker Run event are required to complete two (2) liability waiver forms for each person. One for our insurer, the American Canoe Association (ACA), and one for the Conewango Creek Watershed Association (CCWA). For minors (under 18 years old) a separate waiver for the minor must also be signed by the legal parent or guardian. A complete set of waivers must be signed for each individual. Filling these out and mailing them back ahead of time will save valuable time, and greatly ease congestion at check-in on the morning of the event.

BOATING LAWS:
All participants must abide by New York and Pennsylvania Boating Laws. Safety comes first!!
Each person must have a Personal Flotation Device (PFD) in their boat at all times and is strongly encouraged to wear it during the Poker Run. Children 12 years of age and under must wear a PFD at all times while on the water.
We practice Leave No Trace…What you pack in, you pack out.
THE POKER RUN:
The poker run will begin at 8 am and will end at 2:30 pm at Larimer Park in Russell, PA. A Poker Run Game Card will be given to each participant in a zipper bag. Each participant must sign 2 liability waivers (described above) to receive and take “ownership” of their game card. All participants need to bring snacks, water, sunscreen, and should dress for the weather as the event will be held rain or shine.
Participants must be off the water, signed out on the registration roster and in line to draw their 5th card and any bonus cards by 2:30 pm. The barbecue lunch will be available anytime from 11 am until 3 pm. As you exit and check-out, you may eat at any time during this time-frame. If extra meals are purchased for children or friends/family not participating in the poker run, please indicate that on the Official Poker Run Registration Form and include the extra meal costs in your registration packet. Alternatively, you may call the CCWA office at 814-726-1441 to place your order, and then send/bring the extra meal fees on the day of the event.

Parking is very limited at the State Line boat launch. Participants need to leave their vehicles at Larimer Park in Russell, PA, the ending point, after dropping their boats and gear at the State Line boat launch. Free shuttling will be available from Larimer Park to State Line for the start for DRIVERS ONLY. Please carpool with family and friends.
T-SHIRTS:
A Poker Run T-shirt will be provided to anyone who registers for the event by Friday, May 13, 2016. A limited number of extra shirts will be ordered and available during registration on a first-come, first-serve basis.
SEVERE WEATHER:
In the event of severe weather, which would include high water conditions or thunder & lightning, a Poker Bash will be held at the North Warren Fire Hall, located on State Street in North Warren, PA, in lieu of a rain date. Be sure to check the CCWA webpage, www.conewangocreek.org or our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/ConewangoCreekwatershedAssociation the morning of the event to ensure it has not been changed to a Poker Bash.
The Conewango Creek Watershed Association reserves the right to cancel this event for any reason, including, but not limited to severe weather, dangerous water conditions, unforeseen events, and other circumstances beyond our control.
